Why does Garf change his blog title every 5 minutes? He obviously doesn't have much going on.

One part of me thinks he waits to see what happens with Lucia. The other thinks that won't have any affect on his decision. Either way, I don't see Botts burning a year of his ELC to play a in handful of meaningless games.

As excited as I am to see him in Buffalo/Rochester, I would rather wait and sign him in the summer, and not waste a year of him playing for peanuts.

Another possible scenario with Middlestadt is that he “pulls a Vesy” and plays his entire four year career at Minnesota then becomes a UFA. He will avoid the gong show in Buffalo then sign with the Wild. Could happen

Garf seems only capable of talking about 4 players. Kane, Mittelstadt, Samson, and Jorts.

He could go the distance and finish his degree then go pro. If he does that he will be a free agent to sign anywhere, just like Vesey did.

I don't see this happening, but out of curiosity, doesn't he then have to sign like a entry level deal for 2 years or something? If that's the case, it benefits him (or anyone really) to start their career early to get to the payday faster. I don't know if that's the case, but I think I remember that the money for Vesey was the same for every team on a two year deal.
